Kate McGee is an Owner and Director of State Twenty Eight, having joined the studio in 2020 and quickly becoming an integral part of the leadership team. She brings a considered, strategic approach to the way the studio operates—shaping project delivery, team culture, and client engagement with professionalism and clarity.

With a Diploma in Interior Design and broad industry experience, Kate plays a key role in guiding the studio’s continued growth and reputation for quality.

Her career spans interior design, business development, and product specification, having worked with leading design brands across Perth, Sydney and Brisbane on residential, major commercial and hospitality projects. This cross-disciplinary background allows her to combine creative insight with commercial awareness, ensuring design outcomes are both intelligent and deliverable.

Kate oversees a diverse portfolio of projects from briefing through to completion. She is known for her practical, collaborative leadership, mentoring the team, engaging with clients and consultants, and contributing to the long term direction of State Twenty Eight.
